Abstract
The fragmented territory of the Canarian archipelago urges the use of technologies in the educational context. This article aims to analyze the reflections arising from the impact of covid-19 in the university environment in overseeing the digital transformation of these institutions. In addition, the article presents a content analysis of the reflections arising from the Webinar “Canary Islands Universities and covid-19: Ready for digital transformation?”, an event organized by Fundación MAPFRE Guanarteme Technology and Education Chair at the University of La Laguna. The participants in this webinar were selected as expert informants from different fields and universities, so their contributions are relevant to understanding the emergency measures taken and the future lines for improving our academic institutions. The results shed light on the most beneficial actions, those that still need to be improved, and those that will be key if a new and urgent adaptation to the online environment is necessary.
